Picturing Myself

December 25 – Sift through all the photos of you from the past year. Choose one that best captures you; either who you are, or who you strive to be. Find the shot of you that is worth a thousand words. Share the image, who shot it, where, and what it best reveals about you. (Author: Tracey Clark)

I take a lot of pictures, which means that not many are taken of me. This one was taken by one of my favorite photographers, my friend Shelley. I chose it because of how relaxed and happy and unselfconscious I look. I wore sunglasses that day and I took them off when we sat down in the shade; I’m not used to seeing myself without glasses. I’m also kind of twirling my hair, which I think I may do often. You can also tell how windy the day was.

It was the beginning of September, and we had a lovely picnic in Prospect Park with Valerie. I’m pretty sure it was a perfect day.
